This logo was designed by Paolo Rivera, Mainland's valedictorian of the 1999 Senior class, as a graduation present for Mrs. Colwell.  While at Mainland, Paolo took three physics courses: Physics I Honors, AP Physics B, and AP Physics C Mechanics. His design incorporates information from such major topics as reflection and diffraction of waves, resonance patterns, capacitors, forces, vectors, resistors, torque, and an xy-coordinate plane.

Paolo is currently studying art in Boston and plans on a professional career in designing comic books. The logo is used with his permission.
