For the past two years an end-of-year survey has been administered to my
classes. The vast major of the students polled highly rated these items:
- Students are impressed with the integral use of technology
- Students find the supporting resources on the web-site are very valuable (in fact
through the survey they suggested the addition of the whiteboard and posted classnotes
- Students like working in groups – they value being able to collaborate with
another student to discuss answers
- Students like the fact that they can reach materials both at home and in the classroom
- Students like the daily Agenda Pages and supporting Calendar and Outline to keep up with
classwork and due dates
- Students did not feel like the website reduced the role of the teacher in their
instruction
Mainland's physics enrollment jumped after the first year by 33%.
